MTS Engineers are responsible for developing and supporting a wide range of projects with a goal of achieving world class performance, safety, and reliability for our customers' most challenging mechanical testing needs. As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will provide technical leadership of all project development aspects from project scope definition to architecture design and formulation, implementation, test, and release. Example responsibilities include electrical architecture development, application configuration, programmable logic design, safety system design and overall implementation of system level controls including checkout and installation support. Major Areas of Accountability:
Accepts responsibility for assigned tasks and displays the ability to manage electrical portions of the project. Provide technical support for internal and external customers. Act as the team leader for electrical/controls work for assigned projects. Provide leadership and significant input into Technology Roadmaps. Provide technical reports, presentations, knowledge sharing. Reviews progress & evaluate results related to projects. Works to develop concepts and designs that meet or exceed the system's cost and performance goals. Also, develops concepts and designs for support of pre-sale applications as applicable. Plans and estimates cross functional development efforts. Leader of system control architecture design with ability to present concepts to peers and leadership and generate confidence and acceptance. Participates in continuous improvement initiatives. Subject matter expert for electrical centric assemblies with a working knowledge of how it impacts mechanical and software attributes of the system. Mentors fellow engineers. Defining and developing custom control system architecture along with custom hardware/software interfaces. Supports digital communication and third-party interfaces. Interfaces with vendors of electronic components, key development tools and technologies. Minimum
Qualifications:
BS degree. in Engineering 9 yrs. of progressively demanding project/design experience Expected travel averaging less than 10%, domestic and international. Must possess a valid driver's license and able to obtain automobile/liability coverage Preferred
